Built on pride
The NFL has grown a large audience outside of the United States, with Mexico alone having nearly 40 million fans. International games bring strong attendance and energy, but that interest often ends when the event is over. Fans do not have a team that feels like it represents them or their city. In the United States, teams are part of everyday life and identity. Internationally, that connection is missing. Without it, it is difficult for fans to stay engaged or build long term loyalty.
The Mexico City Sentinels is a conceptual NFL expansion team that explores how design can create that connection. This project builds a team identity inspired by Mexico City and its culture. The system includes branding, uniforms, and social media that work together as one experience. The goal is to make the team feel like it belongs to the city and its fans. This project shows how design can move fans from casual interest to real investment in a team.
